REQUESTS AND FUNCTIONS APPLICABLE TO CIRCUIT ASSURANCE STATE.
The following requests are permitted in CIRCUIT ASSURANCE

see Section 3.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

FETCH CONFIGURATION, to retrieve line parameters. You
can find out the values of line parameters, but you aren't
allowed to change them. This request does not cause a
change of state.

FETCH STATISTICS, to retrieve line quality and usage data.
This request does not cause a change of state.

READ DATA, to receive the ID of the calling station. This
request does not cause a change of state.

WRITEREAD DATA, to initiate ID exchange if this is the
calling station, and to read the ID of the called station;
to reply to the calling station if this is the called
station, and to read the response. The line state when
the request completes successfully is CONTROL.

CONTROL, to disrupt an ID exchange in progress and change
the state to DISCONNECTED.

SETMODE, to change the retry count or the block length for
transparent text. This request does not cause a change of
state.

ABORT, to stop a request in progress, for example, a
READ or WRITEREAD request. The ID exchange does not
complete, so the line stays in CIRCUIT ASSURANCE state.
