Migrating Data From a D-Series
Release
This section provides an example of how to configure, on a NonStop S-series system,
a modular disk subsystem that was previously configured on a NonStop K-series
system.
Software Release Requirements
If your current system is running a release that precedes D46.00, you’ll need to migrate
to the D46.00 release before you can migrate your database to a NonStop S-series
server running on the G06.01 or later release. (G06.01 or later is required for using the
6760 ServerNet device adapter.)
For detailed information, see What software release is the current system running? on
page D-4.
Example: Four Controllers and Two Disk
Modules
This subsection contains an example of migrating two disk modules from a NonStop
K-series system to a NonStop S-series system.
The D-Series Configuration
Because the 6760 adapter is automatically configured when it is installed in a NonStop
S-series server, the CONTROLLERS paragraph of the D-series CONFTEXT
configuration file is not shown in this example.
The PERIPHERALS paragraph of the CONFTEXT configuration file is used in D-series
releases to configure the disks. An example entry for a mirrored disk volume named
$DATA00 is shown in Example D-1.
