6760 Adapters in Interleaved Enclosures
6760 Adapters in Interleaved Enclosures
The halves of an external mirrored disk volume can be connected to two 6760
adapters installed in separate system enclosures. This configuration can tolerate the
failure of a ServerNet fabric or the failure of an entire enclosure. To ensure this level of
fault tolerance, you should:
•
Balance the 6760 adapters between even-numbered slots and odd-numbered
slots.
•
Configure your system software so that it supports enclosure interleaving. For
more detailed information on enclosure interleaving, refer to the NonStop S-Series
Planning and Configuration Guide.
Four 6760 Adapters in a NonStop S700 System
The usual maximum number of 6760 adapters installed in one system enclosure is
two. However, under certain circumstances, a system enclosure can support four 6760
adapters. You can install four 6760 adapters in one enclosure only if both of the
following are true:
•
It is a processor enclosure.
•
Your system contains no other enclosures.
A NonStop S700 S-series system consists of two processors installed in one
enclosure. For more information, refer to Himalaya S700 Documentation in Software
Publications.

installed in an even-numbered slot and an odd-numbered slot.
