Install the Adapter
Key points about installing a 6760 adapter are:
•
Identify the slot that you want to install the adapter in. The 6760 adapters are
normally installed in slots 53 and 54 of a processor enclosure and slots 51 through
54 of an I/O enclosure, as shown in Figure 2-1 on page 2-3.

Obtain the tools you will use to install the adapter:

Unpack and inspect the new adapter.

Verify that the adapter contains the proper type of SACs and the correct
number of SACs. Adapter ports that do not have SACs have a filler panel to
block the opening in the adapter faceplate. If you need to make a change, see
the NonStop S-Series Hardware Support Guide.

Check the adapter connector and logic board of the adapter for any damage.
°
Check the adapter for damage. If it is damaged, you must order another one
before continuing with this procedure.
•
Examine the backplane pins of the slot where you are installing the adapter to
make sure that nothing is broken or misaligned.
