Configuring the 6760 ServerNet/DA and Attached
Devices
6760 ServerNet/DA Manual—424879-003
3-15
Example: INFO DISK, CONFIG Detailed Report
Path Information:
The following describes the disk path information listed for the primary, backup, mirror,
and mirror backup paths in an INFO DISK, CONFIG report such as the one displayed
in Example 3-4
 on page 3-10.
ProtectDirectory shows the protection method used when writing to the volume
directory. The protection methods are full-block checking
(CHECKPOINT), serial writes (SERIAL), or disabled (OFF).
ReviveBlocks shows the number of revive blocks of disk data to be copied
during each copy interval.
This value is used when starting a disk that is half of a
mirrored volume. During the disk startup, the data for the
volume half that is up (in the STARTED state) is copied to the
volume half that is being started while concurrent processing
can continue on the volume half that is up (STARTED). For
maximum and minimum values, see the SCF Reference
Manual for the Storage Subsystem.
ReviveInterval shows the maximum interval, in 10-millisecond units, between
each revive copy operation and the next.
SerialWrites shows whether serial writes should be used (ENABLED) or not
used (DISABLED) when a disk file is being written. This value
has no effect on nonmirrored disk drives. When ENABLED,
the potential data loss caused by certain processor error
conditions is minimized; when DISABLED, the performance of
mirrored volumes is maximized.
When ENABLED, serial write operations are performed when
the mirror drive is up. If the mirror drive is not up and if the
FullCheckpoints value is FORCED or ENABLED, then
full-block checkpoints are used to protect the validity of the
data. For more information, see FullCheckpoints
 on page 3-12.
Adapter shows the logical name of the adapter that controls the disk
drive. This name is based on the type and location of the
adapter and it is retrieved from the system.
Disk Device ID shows the SCSI address of the device. For external disks
connected to a 6760 adapter, it shows the slot number of
the disk in the disk module. This is the address used by the
SAC to access the disk drive.
Location (Group,
Module, Slot)
For external disk drives, shows the location of the adapter
that controls the external disk drive.
