Using TSM to Test a 6760 Adapter, SACs, and
Attached Devices
You should run the TSM Service Application on a system console running the
Windows NT 4.0 operating system. In order to run the tests recommended in Step 5 on
page 4-21 and Step 6 on page 4-22, make sure that:
At least one disk is configured on the adapter.
The disk process is started.
If you have just installed the adapter, see also Troubleshooting After Installing a 6760
Adapter on page 3-18.
Using TSM to Test a 6760 Adapter, SACs, and Attached Devices
Before starting this test procedure, be sure to read Preparing to Test a 6760 Adapter
and Its Devices on page 4-19.
Testing the Adapter and Its SACs
Follow this procedure to test ServerNet communication, a 6760 adapter, and its SACs:
1. Log on to the TSM Service Application (see the TSM Online User Guide for
details). Use the System tab of the tree pane to select the group enclosure where
the adapter resides.
The Physical view of the enclosure appears in the view pane.
2. If the adapter is not displayed in the view pane, see Step 4 of Using TSM to Check
the Adapter Hardware on page 3-18.
Note. Some of the TSM test procedures used in this subsection make the adapter unavailable;
therefore, during testing, you might see a message indicating that the device path must be
offline before it can be tested.
