How to Determine Which PICs Are on the CCSA
Use the OSM Service Connection or TSM Service Application to determine the PIC
type.
Look at the faceplate to determine the PIC type.
Use SCF to determine the PIC type.
Using the OSM Service Connection or TSM Service
Application to Determine the PIC Type
Locate and expand the CCSA object in the tree pane. Select one of its SS7 SAC
subcomponents and check the SS7 SAC Type attribute in the Attributes tab of the
details pane.
The values for the SS7 ServerNet addressable controllers are:
SS7 TE
SS7 TE 2
SS7 TE 3

Looking at the Faceplate to Determine the PIC Type
The PIC connectors (ports) are on the faceplate of the CCSA. The SS7TE and
SS7TE1 PICs have only one port, the SS7TE2 PIC has two ports and four LEDs, and
the SS7TE3 PIC has three ports and 6 LEDs. Figure 1-9, SS7TE2 Faceplate, on
page 1-16 and Figure 1-10, SS7TE3 Faceplate, on page 1-17 show the faceplates of
an SS7TE2 and an SS7TE3. Figure 1-8 on page 1-15 shows a CCSA that has one
SS7TE or SS7TE1 PIC, one SS7TE2 PIC, and one SS7TE3 PIC.
