Plan the SLSA Interface
You need to be familiar with the SLSA subsystem to plan your LIF, SAC, and PIF
configuration. For information about planning the SLSA interface to control the CCSA,
see the LAN Configuration and Management Manual.
Complete the Configuration Form
When you add an adapter to a NonStop S-series system enclosure, you specify the
following:
The name you want to use to identify the adapter; for example, C2153 for a CCSA
in slot 53 of the first system enclosure.
The location of the adapter within the system cabinet (group, module, and slot).
The processors that have access to the SACs on the adapter.
Before you install a CCSA in a system, decide in which slot to install the adapter. Use a
copy of the form from Appendix A, CCSA Configuration Form to record this
information. Use one form for each CCSA you plan to install. Figure A-1 on page A-3
shows an example of a completed CCSA configuration form.
The following steps explain how to complete the configuration form:
1. Enter the name of the system in the System Name field.
2. Enter the group number for this enclosure in the Group Number field.
3. Enter the module number in the Module field.
4. Enter the slot number of this CCSA in the Slot Number field. CCSAs can be
installed in slots 51, 52, 53 and 54 of an I/O enclosure (expansion) but only in 53
and 54 of a processor enclosure. Figure 1-1 on page 1-2 shows the slot locations
for the CCSA.
5. Enter the adapter name. (See the Manufacturing Naming Conventions for SLSA
SCF Objects on page 1-6.)
