9710 (StorageTek) Addendum for NonStop Servers
Addendum tot he StorageTek 9710 for the Tandem Environment
Configuring the 5155/5159 Digital Linear Tape FRU for the Himalaya S-series Servers
7-12
Group and slot labels help locate FRUs that need service. Some
software might show the location of a FRU using abbreviations for
group, module, and slot. For example the Subsystem Control
Facility (SCF) storage subsystem might display the location of a
PMF CRU as:
PMF.GRP-1.MOD-1.SLOT-50
For more information on system organization, group numbering, or
labeling in a Himalaya S-series server, refer to the Himalaya S-
series Planning and Configuration Guide.
7.8 Completing the PMF CRU Configuration Form
To connect a tape drive FRU to a PMF CRU, document the
configuration of the PMF CRU using a PMF CRU Configuration
Form. This form documents configurable entities associated with
the connectors on a PMF CRU. It also provides information about
the tape drive to be connected to the PMF CRU.
Note: The SCSI passthrough terminator is preinstalled on the
differential SCSI port.
Figure 7-9 shows an example of a completed PMF CRU
Configuration Form. For a blank PMF FRU Configuration, refer to
the Himalaya S-series Planning and Configuration Guide.
Complete the SCSI Port information block on the form if attaching a
tape drive to a PMF CRU:
• Enter the product number of the tape drive in the Product Number
field. The correct product number is 5190.
• Enter the Subsystem Control Facility (SCF) name of the tape drive
in the SCF Name field.
