Example 1: Defining and Adding a Tape Drive 
Use the SCF ADD TAPE command to define and add a 5155/5159 
tape drive to the system configuration.  
Before issuing the ADD TAPE command, insure that the tape 
drive is installed properly.  
The following example adds a 5155/5159 Digital Linear Tape FRU, 
“$TAPE0” to the system configuration. 
->ADD TAPE $TAPE0, SENTO STORAGE, LOCATION (1,1,55),& 
->PRIMARYCPU 0, BACKUPCPU 1,  
The following are notes about this example: 
• The LOCATION attribute specifies the location (group, 
module, and slot) of the PMF CRU (adapter) to which the tape 
drive is attached. 
• The PRIMARYCPU attribute specifies the processor in which 
the primary tape process should execute. 
• The BACKCPU attribute specifies the processor in which the 
tape process starts its backup process. 
• The PRODUCT attribute specifies the product number that 
identifies the model of the tape drive. 
Note: Use the product number 5190 when configuring the 
5155/5159 Digital Linear Tape subsystem.
