Issue the SCF INFO TAPE command after the ADD TAPE command is
finished to verify that the tape drive has been properly configured. For
example:

The following ADD TAPE command adds a 5190, 5155/5159,
5150 or a 5151 tape drive connected to the PMF CRU in group 02,
module 1, and slot 50 to the system configuration using the name
$TAPE1:
->ADD TAPE $TAPE1, SENDTO STORAGE, LOCATION (2,1,50),&
->PRIMARYCPU 2, BACKUPCPU 3,

Example 2: Changing the Values of Tape Drive Attributes
Use the SCF ALTER TAPE command to change the attribute
values for a tape drive attached to the system. The ALTER
command changes only the attributes specified in the command.
