If the 5155/5159 Tape Subsystem fails during POST or operation, use Table
7-4 to determine the problem and the action to take.

The Tape Subsystem sy

be configured with the correct SCSI
ID (5).
Configure the Tape Subsystem for
the correct SCSI ID (5).
The Tape Subsystem might not
be configured correctly in the
configuration file (SCF).
Check SCF and
reconfigure if necessary.
The parameters for the PMF CRU
or the IOMF CRU might be incorrect.
Check the SCF configuration.
The SCSI signal cable might
be loose.
Make sure the connector on each
end of the cable is fully seated.
The SCSI terminator might
not be present or might be
loose.
Install the terminator; make
sure the terminator is fully
seated.
The SCSI bus might not
be correctly terminated.
Make sure the terminator is
installed on the 5155/5159.
