If a nonfatal error occurs, the revive operation does not proceed but
stalls or goes into a loop. The START DISK command continues to
retry at the current address until either the revive operation is successful
or the revive operation is suspended or stopped.

Virtual Disk Related Considerations
Before using the START DISK command for a virtual disk, verify that:
The name specified must have a configuration record and a
definition with the SMF master process (both can be verified using
the INFO and STATUS commands).
The NonStop Transaction Manager/MP (TM/MP) product must be
running on the system.
The following must be in the STARTED state:
1. The SMF master process ($ZSMS).
2. The volume specified as the CATALOGLOCATION for the
MON process (must also be enabled by the NonStop
Transaction Manager/MP (TM/MP) product).
3. The storage pool process specified in the POOL attribute.
4. The CATALOGLOCATION volume of the storage pool
process must also be enabled by the NonStop Transaction
Manager/MP (TM/MP) product).
