STOP TAPE Command
This subsection describes the details about the STOP TAPE command. The
STOP TAPE command stops access to the specified tape drive. The
command syntax is:
$ tape-name | $ ldev
specifies the name or logical device number of the tape device.
Wild-card characters are supported.
Example Using STOP TAPE
The following is an example of the STOP TAPE command:
STOP TAPE { $ tape-name | $ ldev }
• To stop access to all tape drives starting with $TAPE, type:
-> STOP TAPE $TAPE*
Comparing PUP Commands With STOP TAPE
In the G-series releases, the SCF STOP TAPE command replaces the PUP
DOWN command.
Table 9-15 compares PUP commands with the SCF STOP TAPE command.
