2.2 Overview
This 9710 ACS Tape Subsystem and the drive FRUs are shipped in
individual shipping containers. Care should be taken when
unpacking and inventorying the system components.
2.3 Unpacking Controller Hardware
• For subsystems that will be attached to an MFC, the MFC RS-
232/SCSI BIC and copper SCSI cable come in separate boxes.
• For subsystems that will be attached to a 3216, the 3216 logic
board, 3216 BIC, fiber-optic cable, and BEB enclosure come in
a separate box.
• The tape drive(s) used in the 9710 ACS Tape Subsystem are
packaged separately. They should be installed into the 9710
ACS Tape Subsystem prior to Power Up.
