Power On Self Test (POST) for the 9710ACS Tape
Cartridge Silo Subsystem
1. Cycle AC power “Off”, wait 30 seconds, and then “On”.
If unit fails to power on, insure that AC power is available at PDU.
If AC power is good at unit - Call StorageTek at (303) 673-5151.
2. When you turn on system power, the unit performs the power-on
 self-test (POST).
The sequence of events is as follows:
A) DLT Tape Drive - The lights on the right front panel turn on
sequentially from top to bottom. All lights stay on for a few
seconds.
B) DLT Tape Drive - All lights on the left front panel turn on at
the same time for about three seconds and then turn off.
C) The Robot will perform an initialization system and inventory
of all the tape cartridges. Upon successful completion of the
POST operation the Operator Panel will display an “On Line”
Message.
NOTE: POST completes in about 120 seconds and the drive(s) respond
normally to all commands. However, it may take up to 190 seconds
(depending upon cartridge capacity 252-588) for the unit to become ready.
3. If the 9710 ACS Tape Cartridge Silo Subsystem passes the previous
POST test, the following events occur:
A.) The library control path performs a drive state check. If the
drive is in an improper state the robot will attempt to place in
the correct state.
B.) The library control path performs an interval audit of all media.
