9710 (StorageTek) Addendum for NonStop Servers
Addendum to the StorageTek 9710 for the Tandem Environment
Installing and Configuring the 9710 Automated Cartridge Subsystem

3.13 Patch Panel Connections
Each drive FRU contains one 68-pin SCSI socket and one 50 pin
SCSI socket or ports via the BEB Patch Panel. When the 5155/5159
drive FRU is attached to an MFC, the 50-pin SCSI port is used for
the copper cable connection and the 68-pin SCSI port is capped with
a SCSI terminator.
When the 5155/5159 drive FRU is attached to a 3216 controller, one
port is used for the BEB and the other port is either capped with a
SCSI terminator or linked by a daisy-chained cable to the other drive
FRU in a module. (A SCSI terminator completes the SCSI chain on
the second drive FRU.)
Note: Removing the SCSI terminator from an unused
port can prevent operation.
Figure 3-8 shows the location of the 5155/5159 tape drive FRUs in
the 9710 Automated Cartridge Subsystem. The BEB, cabling, and
  SCSI terminator are not shown.
