NAMES Command
NAMES Command
The NAMES command returns a list of the subordinate object types and names for the
specified object.
Considerations for the NAMES Command
•
The SEL option is not supported.
•
Wild cards are not supported at the subdevice level.
Command Syntax for the NAMES Command
The NAMES command has the following syntax:
OUT file-spec
causes any SCF output generated for this command to be directed to the specified
file.
LINE line-name | SU su-name | null
designates the device names to be displayed. If you omit the line-name or
su-name, the subordinate object names and types of the assumed object are
displayed.
SUB [ ONLY | ALL | NONE ]
directs the command to a set of subordinate objects.
ONLY specifies that only the subordinate objects are affected.
ALL specifies that the named object and all the subordinate objects are affected.
NONE specifies that none of the subordinate objects are affected.
If you omit a value for SUB, ALL is assumed.
Example of the NAMES Command
The following command gives you the names of subdevices for the line $TR3271:
NAMES LINE $TR3271, SUB ALL
TR3271 NAMES LINE
$TR3271
NAMES [ / OUT file-spec / ]
[ LINE line-name | SU su-name | null ]
[ , SUB [ ONLY | ALL | NONE ] ]
