Do not use this modifier.
CRC16 — AM and TR
This modifier specifies the type of block-check character algorithm used, that is the
error detection modifier typically used for EBCDIC code transmissions. CRC16 is a 2-
byte sequence.
Alternate choices are CCITT or LRC8. CCITT is a 2-byte sequence. LRC8 is a 1-byte
sequence.
DEVICES — AM and TR
This modifier specifies the maximum number of terminals and/or printers on each line.
Note that this modifier specifies the maximum number of subdevices, not devices.
If your line will have more than 32 subdevices, increase the value as needed; then add
the subdevices by using the SCF ADD command.
For optimum performance set this value to slightly more than the maximum number of
subdevices. A larger value may result in an overloaded CLIP buffer.
For TR, the DEVICES value represents the maximum number of tributary devices that
the TR process can handle. Therefore, devices restrict the number of subdevices used
by tributary applications using TR.
