NOCLEARCA or CLEARCA — AM and TR
NOCLEARCA or CLEARCA — AM and TR
The NOCLEARCA modifier specifies that the request-to-send signal is not dropped
when switching from a write to a read operation. This action is appropriate if modems
are strapped for an unswitched carrier (a constant, continuous carrier) or a point-to-
point configuration.
NOCONTROLRTS or CONTROLRTS — AM and TR
The NOCONTROLRTS modifier specifies that the carrier signal need not drop before
the request-to-send signal is raised (used in a point-to-point configuration).
CONTROLRTS specifies that the carrier signal drops before raising the request-to-
send signal. This action is appropriate for those terminal devices that will not monitor
the line until they drop their RTS lead (half-duplex operations on a full-duplex line.) Use
of this modifier adds a small amount to the response time.
NOCTRLCF or CTRLCF — AM and TR
The NOCTRLCF modifier specifies that the carrier signal need not drop before raising
the request-to-send signal. This action is appropriate for an unswitched carrier.
CTRLCF specifies that the carrier signal is to drop before raising the request-to-sent
signal. This action is appropriate for those terminal devices that will not monitor the line
until they drop their RTS lead (half-duplex operations on a full-duplex line.) Use of this
modifier adds a small amount to response time.
