PACE — AM Only
PACE — AM Only
This modifier specifies the number of consecutive selects that are allowed on the line
before subdevices are polled for data. If the value of this modifier is 0, output
(selection) is favored over input (polling). However, if heavy output is being performed
on a line, no input is taken until the output has completed.
For example, if the value of this modifier is 10, at the end of 10 WRITEs, the
subdevices on the poll line are polled for READ input. If the value is 0, subdevices are
not polled for READ input until all WRITE output is completed.
Using alternate terms to explain the preceding example: If this modifier is set to 10
then at the end of ten Selects (or Fastselects) the PACE parameter forces the line to
poll the active subdevices on the line, excluding those that are already on the select
list. If any polled subdevice responds with traffic, the polling stops. AM3270 then
handles the request as any select. SELECTs continue until another ten SELECTs are
done or until the outstanding SELECTs are exhausted.
POLLINT — AM Only
This modifier specifies the interval between the last station on the poll list being polled
and the start of the poll list.
