RVIIFNOREAD or EOTIFNOREAD — AM Only
RVIIFNOREAD or EOTIFNOREAD — AM Only
The RVIIFNOREAD modifier specifies that after RETRIES of POLL/SELECT operation
are exhausted, AM3270 sends a reverse interrupt (RVI). Note that AM3270 does not
acknowledge the text if there is no READ outstanding.
The EOTIFNOREAD modifier specifies that AM3270 sends an End Of Text (EOT) after
RETRIES are exhausted.
SLOWPOLLMSG or NOSLOWPOLLMSG — AM Only
The SLOWPOLLMSG modifier enables message 111, which gives repoll status for a
SLOWPOLL device (a device that has a nonzero SLOWPOLL interval set by SCF).
NOSLOWPOLLMSG disables message 111.
If SLOWPOLLMSG is in effect, a SLOWPOLL device that does not respond to a poll is
placed on the repoll list, and a message 111 with a repoll state of 1 is displayed. After
the SLOWPOLL interval (given by SCF SU attribute REPOLLINT), the device is
transferred to the poll list and a message 111 is displayed with a repoll state of 0. The
poll is retried, and another message 111 is displayed if the device again fails to
respond. If the terminal cluster controller is powered off, message 111 is displayed
twice every SLOWPOLL interval — once for adding the device onto the POLL list and
once for the removal of the device from the POLL list.
This modifier is appropriate if a large number of powered-off cluster controllers causes
too many 111 messages.
