SPEED — AM Only
SPEED — AM Only
This modifier specifies the data rate of the line. For example, specify 96 for a rate of
9600 bits per second. When SPEED is set to a non-zero value, CSS 3270 calculates
the time it takes to send a text block and adds that value to the timeout value.
SYNCS — AM and TR
This modifier specifies the number of SYN characters that precede a transmission. The
optimum value for this modifier is 3 through 4. If the value is less than 3, the device
may not detect SYNs that are sent. If the value is more than 4, the SYNs may slow the
line unnecessarily.
TESTINT— AM and TR
This modifier specifies the interval for probing the status of the DLC task by the IOP
using the STATUS PROBE message. A value of zero means the line is never probed.
The default value allows optimum resource use for most systems. If no response is
received for STATUS PROBE messages from the DLC within the time interval, the IOP
aborts all current application requests and downloads the CLIP.
