Determining the Subsystem
Determining the Subsystem
PTrace uses the line device types and subtypes 60,10 to indicate the AM3270
subsystem and 60,11 to indicate the TR3271 subsystem. PTrace reads this information
when it opens the trace file.
The device type for AM3270 is 60. The only possible subtype is 10.
The device type for TR3271 is 60. The only possible subtype is 11.
PTrace Commands
You use PTrace commands to format trace files generated by a subsystem. This
subsection describes only those details of the PTrace commands that you use to
format the trace files generated by the AM3270 or TR3271 subsystems.
Some PTrace commands are common to all subsystems, while other commands are
subsystem-specific. Only the subsystem-specific commands are described here; the
subsystem commands common to all subsystems are listed in Table 7-1.
The FILTER command and the TRANSLATE command (which allows ASCII-to-
EBCDIC translation) are not supported.
Table 7-1 describes the PTrace commands that can be used with the AM3270 or
TR3271 subsystems. For additional information on these commands, refer to the
PTrace Reference Manual.
