Supported Concentrator
Supported Concentrator
On G-series systems, the only supported concentrator is the SWAN concentrator. For
detailed information on how to configure the SWAN concentrator, refer to the WAN
Subsystem Configuration and Management Manual.
WAN Subsystem
For G-series systems, use SCF to define and start the AM3270/TR3271 line-handler
from the WAN subsystem.
Also, for G-series systems, the WAN subsystem provides the functions that the
Configuration Utility Program (COUP) and SYSGEN provide on the NonStop K-series
servers. Specifically, the WAN subsystem allows you to:
•
Define AM3270/TR3271 lines and the modifiers that affect their operation
•
Start AM3270/TR3271 lines
•
Stop, alter, or delete AM3270/TR3271 lines
•
Monitor the primary and backupAM3270/TR3271 line-handler processes and
restart them if both fail
DEVICE Objects for the AM3270 and TR3271 Subsystems
Figure 2-4, Starting AM3270 and TR3271 DEVICE Objects shows the creation of an
AM3270 or TR3271 line-handler PROCESS object. When the WAN subsystem
AM3270 or TR3271 line-handler DEVICE object is started, the WAN manager process
creates and starts the AM3270 or TR3271 line-handler PROCESS object.
