START DEVICE Command
START DEVICE Command
To start an AM3270/TR3271 line-handler process, use the WAN subsystem SCF
START DEVICE command. The START DEVICE command has the following syntax:
device_name
is the device name of the AM3270/TR3271 line-handler process.
Example
The following command starts a DEVICE in the WAN subsystem:
START DEVICE $ZZWAN.#AM1
For information about the syntax of these SCF commands, see the START command
in the WAN Subsystem Configuration and Management Manual.
Once you have added and started the AM3270/TR3271 line-handler process in the
WAN subsystem, you can temporarily alter the modifiers through the AM3270/TR3271
subsystem by using SCF commands.
You also can make permanent changes to the AM3270/TR3271 line-handler process
by altering the device configuration parameters when you add the AM3270/TR3271
line-handler process to the WAN subsystem.
Refer to the WAN Subsystem Configuration and Management Manual for information
about altering modifiers of AM3270 or TR3271 device objects. Once you alter the
modifiers of AM3270 or TR3271 devices, the altered values are stored permanently
and are used whenever the device is started through the START DEVICE command,
or when the whole system is restarted.
