Examples of the ABORT Command
LINE line-name | SU su-name
designates the line or subdevice to be aborted. If you omit line-name or
su-name, the assumed object is aborted. The objects that you can abort are lines
and subdevices.
SUB [ ONLY | ALL ]
directs the command to a set of subordinate objects.
ONLY specifies that only the subordinate objects are affected.
ALL specifies that the named object and all the subordinate objects are affected.
If you omit a value for SUB, ALL is assumed.
Examples of the ABORT Command
The following command aborts the line $AM3270 as well as all subdevices on that line:
ABORT LINE $AM3270, SUB ALL
The following command aborts the subdevice $AM3270.#TERM:
ABORT SU $AM3270.#TERM
ADD Command
The ADD command defines a subdevice for an AM3270 line. This is a sensitive
command.
Considerations for the ADD Command
•
The SEL and LIKE options are not supported.
•
You cannot use the ADD command to add an AM3270 line. Use the SCF ADD
DEVICE command.
•
Wild cards are not supported at the subdevice level.
•
The line can be in the STOPPED or STARTED state when you add a subdevice.
•
The name that you give to an added subdevice must be unique to the particular
line.
•
The maximum number of subdevices cannot exceed 253. If the Profile modifier,
DEVICES is specified with a value less than 253, that value is the maximum
number of subdevices that can be added.
•
When you add a subdevice, the subdevice is in the STOPPED state.
•
If you do not specify an attribute specification for a given object in the ADD
command, SCF uses the default value for the attribute. However, some attributes
