PRIMARY Command

PRIMARY Command
The PRIMARY command is used only when AM3270 is running as a NonStop process
pair. It causes the backup CPU to become the primary CPU and the primary CPU to
become the backup CPU. This is a sensitive command.
Considerations for the PRIMARY Command
•
There is no summary state change associated with the PRIMARY command.
•
If the CPU specified in this command is not the CPU for the backup process, the
command is rejected.

Reference Manual for the Storage Subsystem.
Command Syntax for the PRIMARY Command
The PRIMARY command has the following syntax:
OUT file-spec
causes any SCF output generated for this command to be directed to the specified
file.
PROCESS process-name
designates the process or line that is to have its primary and backup CPUs
switched. If you omit process-name, the assumed process is switched.
number
is the number of the CPU of the backup process.
Example of the PRIMARY Command
The following command switches the primary and backup CPUs of the $AM3270 line.
The number of the CPU of the backup process is 0. CPU 0 will be the new primary
CPU.
