AM3270 Management Programming Manual
 COMMANDS AND RESPONSES
 SWITCH Command
 SWITCH Command
The SWITCH command switches a process to another CPU or a line to
another path. However, if the AM3270 I/O process is running in
a single-port CIU-based implementation of 6100 CSS, both the CPU
and path are switched when your management application issues the
 SWITCH command.
 You cannot switch a subdevice.
When the subsystem completes processing this command, the speci-
fied object remains in the same summary state it was in before
 the command was issued.
The only summary state requirement when issuing this command is
that the LINE object cannot be in the DIAG summary state.
When your management application issues the SWITCH command for
the PROC or LINE object, the resource being switched to must
exist and cannot be the same one currently in use by the named
object. If the resource does not exist, the command is rejected.
If the resource is currently in use, the command completes with a
 warning.
In addition, if the ZCOM-TKN-SWITCH-CPU is specified, the CPU
being switched to must be the CPU for the backup process defined
 during system generation.
