Configuring the ASAP Extension
This section describes how to configure the ASAP Extension (ASAPX):
Getting Started With ASAPX
ASAPX is delivered as an independent product on CD and is installed using the
IPSETUP installation procedure and the ASAPX Installer macro. To install, configure,
and begin using ASAPX:
1. Insert the ASAPX CD in a CD-ROM drive and follow the instructions in the file
named README.TXT in the root directory to install the ASAPX ISV on an HP
NonStop server.
2. Install the ASAPX ISV:
For systems using DSM/SCM for software management, use DSM/SCM to
accept the ASAPX software from the ISV and complete the installation
process.
For HP NonStop K-series systems not using DSM/SCM, use IPSETUP to place
the ASAPX files in the correct location.
3. Create or edit the ASAPX configuration file, ASAPXCNF. It must contain SET
commands to configure ASAPX for your environment. The ASAPX INSTALL macro
creates a default copy of ASAPXCNF if the file does not already exist. If IPSETUP
places the files for you, you need to manually create ASAPXCNF.
4. Configure ASAP to enable ASAPX by including the SET APP ON command in the
ASAP configuration file, ASAPCONF. If the ASAPX configuration file, ASAPXCNF,
does not reside on $SYSTEM.SYSTEM, use a PARAM option to indicate the
location of the file.
5. Develop EDL files to describe your applications, their DataItems, and their metrics
(EDL attributes).
