3 Running the ASAP Extension
The ASAPX command interpreter (CI) supports the application-specific portions of the
ASAP Extension that do not logically fit within the ASAP management framework CI.
ASAPX is used to process commands to the ASAPXSGP and ASAPXMON processes
on each node.
At startup, ASAPX automatically reads the ASAP configuration file (ASAPCONF) and
the ASAP Extension configuration file (ASAPXCNF) to define the ASAP Extension
environment.
This section describes how to run ASAPX and provides all of the ASAPX Control and
OBJECTIVE commands:
Running ASAPX
To run ASAPX, use the standard NonStop Kernel RUN command. If you do not use the
default ASAPX configuration filename, you can specify the new filename.
run-params
are normal Nonstop Kernel RUN command parameters.
asapconf
is the name of the ASAP configuration file (ASAPCONF) if you do not use the
default file. ASAPX first looks in the default subvolume for a file named
ASAPCONF. Then it looks for ASAPCONF in $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.
command
is a valid ASAPX command.
