Installing and Starting ASAP Client
To install ASAP Client do the following:
1. Load the ASAP Client CD into a CD drive on a workstation that can connect to your
NonStop server collection node.
2. The Windows Installer application should automatically start. If it does not start, locate
and double-click on the Setup.exe file on the CD.
3. Follow the instructions to install ASAP Client and the CSG application into the default
directory locations and to create desktop icons should you so desire.
4. Start the CSG application. Use the Start menu and select All Programs->Tandem
CSG->CSG.
5. You should be presented with the CSG Options dialog. If you aren’t, please choose
View->Options to bring up the CSG options dialog.
6. Click on the TCP/IP tab and enter either the DNS name or the IP address of the
ASAP Server collection node, then click OK.
7. From the main CSG window click the blue chevon (leftmost on the toolbar) to connect
to the NonStop server collection node. You will be prompted the first time you
connect to enter your Guardian user ID and password. These settings will be
remembered for all future connections so you will not have to do this again unless you
connect to a different NonStop server or connect as a different Guardian user.
8. Start the ASAP Client. Click on the ASAP icon on your desktop or choose Start->All
Programs->ASAP. When prompted select the Connect button to start your ASAP
Client session and connect to the ASAP Server collection node.
