Configuring ASAP Similar to OMF
This Appendix provides two file samples that let you configure ASAP to match many of
OMF default settings:
•
OMFOBJS—Objectives file
•
ASAPCONF—Global Settings file
You can modify these two files to your convenience. The samples given below provide a
base upon which other settings and/or objectives can be added, modified or deleted.
1. Transfer the OMFOBJS and ASAPCONF files to your central node in a working
subvolume.
2. Configure and start your ASAP environment:
a. From the TACL prompt, run ASAP with the OMFOBJS file as input:
$Data.Myasap> asap /in omfobjs/
This step configures objectives that correspond to many OMF default
thresholds, and stores your objectives in the DBOBJS Objectives DB. Because
the objectives in the Objectives DB are maintained even if ASAP is restarted,
only perform this step once.
b. From the TACL prompt, run ASAP:
$Data.Myasap> asap
The ASAPCONF file is executed.
c. Start the nodes that will participate in your ASAP environment, for example:
+start collect
+start \node1
+start \node2
+status \node1
