START SU Command
Considerations for the START LINE Command
If the SCF START command completes processing with no errors, the subsystem
was able to initiate processing for the start operation. However, the absence of any
error does not necessarily indicate that the start operation was completed
successfully.
A warning will be issued if the LINE is already in the STARTED state.
The SEL option is not supported.
If SUB is specified for the line, the LINE is started before the SUs.
A warning will be issued if LINE is already in the STARTED state.
The START command will be rejected if the line is in the DIAGNOSING state.
Examples of the START LINE Command
The following SCF command starts the line $ATPS1:
->START LINE $ATPS1
The following SCF command starts only the subdevices but not the line. This
command can be executed only if the line is in the STARTED state.
->START LINE $ATPS1, SUB ONLY
The following SCF command starts the line as well as its subdevices:
->START LINE $ATPS1, SUB ALL
START SU Command
The START SU command initiates the operation of a subdevice. Successful
completion of the START SU command indicates that the subsystem was able to
initiate processing to start the subdevice. START SU is a sensitive command.
Command Syntax of the START SU Command
The START SU command has the following syntax:
OUT file-spec
causes any SCF output generated for this command to be directed to the specified
file.
START [ /OUT file-spec / ] SU subdevice-name
