Printer Modifiers
This subsection describes all modifiers contained in the printer profiles and all other
modifiers that can be used with the ATP6100 printer profiles. For detailed information
on using the Subsystem Control Facility (SCF) to alter the default values for the
duration of the current session, refer to Section 6, Managing ATP6100 Using the
Subsystem Control Facility (SCF). For detailed information on permanently altering the
modifier default values contained in the printer profiles or creating a new profile, refer
to the WAN Subsystem Configuration and Management Manual.
ASYNC
This modifier specifies the operational class of the download module as asynchronous.
If an appropriate module is not found in the download file, the operation terminates.
When the ASYNC modifier is included in the PROFILE file, the ConMgr process
checks to make sure that the operational modifier specified in the microcode file
matches the line configuration. If they do not match, the microcode download does not
occur; however, you will not receive an SCF error. If the operational modifier does not
match the line configuration, you will receive a system error stating that the microcode
was not downloaded after the attempted download to the CLIP.
AUTOANSWER
This modifier enables automatic modem answering. In AUTOANSWER mode, Data
Terminal Ready (DTR) and Request To Send (RTS) signals are raised by the I/O
software to allow incoming calls from the printer to be answered. Once the phone has
been answered, an application can write to the printer without any special modem
control calls. This allows any program that can access the printer locally to access it
remotely as well. In AUTOANSWER mode, the communications line is not
disconnected when the file is closed.
AUTOLOAD
This modifier specifies that the CONMGR automatically downloads the line interface
unit (LIU) if the LIU responds to a status probe with an error condition.
