Printer Modifiers
XFERSIZE n
This modifier specifies the maximum number of characters that can be sent to the
printer after an ACK is received and before the next ETX(ENQ) is sent.
A maximum safe value for n is the printer buffer size minus the printer high-water
mark. The printer high-water mark is the number of characters in the printer buffer that
causes the Data Terminal Ready (DTR) signal to become inactive. Check the manual
for the particular printer to determine what these two settings are for the printer.
XOFFCHAR n
This modifier specifies the character the serial printer uses to stop transmission from
the system. Use a different value from that specified for XONCHAR.
XONCHAR n
This modifier specifies the character the serial printer uses to restart transmission from
the system. Use a different value from that specified for XOFFCHAR.
Application: Serial printers
Default: n = 0 except for PATP5540 and PATPPRT where n = 40
