Asynchronous Terminals and Printer Processes Programming Manual
 PRINTER I/O
 Supported Printers
 SUPPORTED PRINTERS
ATP6100/CSSPRINT and SERIALPRINTPROCESS support the following
 printers:
 • 5508 matrix printer, device type 5, subtype 3
 |
 | • 5512 matrix printer, device type 5, subtype 9
 |
 | • 5515/5516 matrix printers, device type 5, subtype 7
 • 5520 matrix printer, device type 5, subtype 4
 • 5530 daisy wheel character printer, device type 5, subtype 6
 • 5540/1 and DTR-type printers (not necessarily Tandem
printers), device type 5, subtype 32
 |
 | • 5573 laser printer, device type 5, subtype 8
 |
 |
 | NOTE
 |
 | Only SERIALPRINTPROCESS supports 5508 printers and only
 | ATP6100 supports 5573 printers. In addition,
 | SERIALPRINTPROCESS supports 5512 printers only if the
 | printer is defined as SERIAL5515 at system generation.
 PRINTER CHARACTERISTICS
Serial printer devices are configured and installed in the same
way as other devices. Initial device characteristics are defined
 | at system generation time. For a list of the default settings
 | associated with each of the supported printers, see Appendix E.
 |
 | You can dynamically change ATP6100/CSSPRINT and
 | SERIALPRINTPROCESS device characteristics and functions with the
 | CONTROL, CONTROLBUF, and SETMODE procedure calls. In addition,
 | you can change ATP6100/CSSPRINT device characteristics through
 | the Communications Management Interface (CMI). However, there
 | are limitations when changing printer characteristics with CMI
 | for subdevices controlled by a 3681 controller; see Appendix F
 | for details.
ATP6100/CSSPRINT and SERIALPRINTPROCESS support terminals with
the characteristics described below. Refer to the
GUARDIAN
Operating System Programmer’s Guide
 for more information.
