Troubleshooting: If the ATM3SA Adapter Object Is Still in the
STARTING State
If the SCF STATUS ADAPTER command shows that the ADAPTER object is still in the
STARTING state after a few minutes or if the OSM Service Connection or the TSM
Service Application indicates that the resource needs attention, do the following:
1. Check for event messages in the Event Message Service (EMS) log.
You can use the OSM Event Viewer or the TSM EMS Event Viewer Application to
view the EMS log. Both Applications allow you to search for events based on
timeframe, subsystem, and source of the events (such as $ZLOG).
•
To start the OSM Event Viewer, select Start>Programs>HP OSM>OSM Event
Viewer. To start the OSM Event Viewer from within the OSM Service
Connection select Event Viewer from the OSM Tools menu.
•
To start the TSM Event Viewer Application, select Start>Programs>Compaq
TSM>TSM Event Viewer. To start the TSM Event Viewer from within the TSM
Service Application, select Events from the Display menu.
2. Look up the cause, effect, and recovery information for event messages. To get
this information:
•
In the OSM Event Viewer, click the sequence number in the left column.
•
In the TSM Event Viewer Application, highlight the event and press F1 .
•
Refer to the Operator Messages Manual.
3. Check the firmware version of the ATM3SA adapter. You can use the OSM Service
Connection or the TSM Service Application to check the firmware version.
•
Using the OSM Service Connection:
1. Right-click the ATM3SA adapter.
2. From the menu, select Attributes.
3. Check the value of the Compare State attribute.
4. If the firmware is not the current revision, update the firmware:
a. Right-click the ATM3SA adapter.
