Gather the Proper Tools
You will need the following tools to replace an adapter:
Print the ATM3SA Adapter Planning Worksheet
Print or make a copy of the ATM3SA Adapter Planning Worksheet (Figure 3-1), and
use it to record information about an ATM ServerNet adapter (ATM3SA).

Step 6 is optional. Communications lines are
suspended when an ATM3SA adapter is
removed and are automatically resumed when
the ATM3SA adapter is replaced. You should
be aware that numerous Event Message
Services (EMS) messages will be generated if
communications lines are not stopped before
the ATM3SA adapter is removed; these
messages do not require any recovery action.

the ATM3SA Adapter
7. Abort the ATM3SA Adapter
8. Label the Communications Cables
