START LINE Command
START LINE Command
The START LINE command initiates the operation of the LINE object. When the
subsystem has successfully completed processing this command, the LINE object is
placed in the STARTED summary state.
Command Syntax
OUT file-spec
causes any SCF output generated for this command to be directed to the specified
file.
LINE line-name
specifies the LINE name to be placed in the STARTED state.
SUB { ALL | NONE | ONLY }
selects the subordinate objects the command affects.
ALL
specifies that the named object and the subordinate objects are affected.
NONE
specifies that the name object is affected but that the subordinate objects are
not.
Default: None.
ONLY
specifies that only the subordinate objects are affected.
Considerations
When you use the START LINE command, the object should be in the STOPPED
summary state.
If you have not previously configured the ATM address using the ALTER LINE
command, the ILMI feature will create the ATM address automatically when you
issue the START LINE command.
Starting the LINE results in the ATM link becoming operational.
