START PROCESS Command
OFF
specifies that a saveabend file is not created automatically if the process ends
abnormally.
STARTMODE { KERNEL|SYSTEM|APPLICATION|MANUAL|DISABLED }
specifies when the process is started. KERNEL specifies that the process is started
early during system load or processor reload. The value must be KERNEL.
STARTUPMSG "text"
optionally specifies a text message to be sent to the $ZPM persistence manager
when the generic process is started. The length of this message can be 1 through
128 characters.
You can use the startup message to handle specification of the backup processor
when configuring a process pair. If you specify
<BCKP-CPU>
including the less than (>) and greater than (<) symbols, as part of text, and you
specify the BACKUPCPU attribute, the StartupMessage line of an INFO
PROCESS command displays the configured backup processor number.
If you do not specify the BACKUPCPU attribute, the $ZPM persistence manager
ignores (that is, it does not give an error) any <BCKP-CPU> specification in the
startup message.
TYPE { SUBSYSTEM-MANAGER|OTHER }
specifies the type of generic process being started. The ASM process type is
OTHER.
OTHER specifies that this process is not a subsystem manager process.
START PROCESS Command
To start the ASM process, use the Kernel subsystem SCF START PROCESS
command.
$ZZKRN.#gpname
is the name of the generic process controlled by the Kernel subsystem manager
($ZZKRN).
