Ending an SCF Session
$process
is the name of an existing SCP process. This action is equivalent to opening an
SCP process using the SCF OPEN command (described in the
SCF Reference
Manual for G-Series RVUs
). You can use this parameter if you want
communication with an SCP process other than the $ZNET default SCP process.
command
is any valid SCF command described in the
SCF Reference Manual for G-Series
RVUs
.
Consideration
Do not specify HIGHPIN as an SCF run option. Although you can configure SCP to run
at a high PIN, SCF cannot run at HIGHPIN; hence, this option is ignored.
Ending an SCF Session
If you run SCF in interactive mode, you can enter an EXIT command from any
interactive input source, or press the CONTROL and Y keys simultaneously (Ctrl-Y) to
terminate SCF.
If you run SCF in noninteractive mode, several conditions can cause SCF to terminate
normally:
•
If commands are given as part of the RUN SCF command, SCF terminates once
the commands are completed.
•
If an end-of-file condition is encountered in the initial input file (such as reaching
the last line in a disk file), SCF terminates.
•
If the maximum number of errors or warnings is exceeded, SCF terminates. To set
the allowable number of errors and warnings, use the ALLOW command
(described in the
SCF Reference Manual for G-Series RVUs
).
Modes of Operation
SCF runs in either of two modes: interactive or noninteractive. Because SCF treats
interactive and noninteractive input quite differently, the following distinctions are
important:
•
The mode is interactive if the same terminal or process is used for both input and
output. If you run SCF in interactive mode, SCF waits for a command followed by
the RETURN key. After the command has been received and processed, SCF
again displays its prompt for the next command.
