ADD ADAPTER Command
SYSOBJID string 
specifies the vendor’s authoritative ID of the Network Management subsystem 
contained in the entity. The string specified must be in the range 0 through 256. 
This attribute is for informational purposes only.
Default: blanks.
SYSSERVICE digit 1-7 
specifies the services offered for this entity. This attribute is for informational 
purposes only.
The value are defined as:
1 - Physical (for example, repeaters)
2 - Datalink/Subnetwork (for example, bridges)
3 - Internet (for example, IP routers)
4 - End-to-end (for example, IP hosts)
5 - Undefined
6 - Defined
7 - Applications (for example, mail relays)
Default: 4.
DFC digit 1-50 
specifies how many packets the adapter receives before sending them to the host. 
If the DFC is set to 1, packets are forwarded immediately, and DFT is disabled. 
The default is 2.
DFT (1-200)/1000th seconds
specifies how many milliseconds the adapter will wait before packets are sent to 
the host. The default is 1.
Considerations
•
The ADD ADAPTER command must specify the name of the subsystem manager 
($ZZATM).
•
An AMP or PROCESS object is created by the subsystem. An AMP is created in 
each of the CPUs specified in the ACCESSLIST attribute.
•
The initial state of the object after being added is the STOPPED summary state.
•
The names of the AMP processes are predefined by $ZZATM. The AMP name is 
composed of the letter Z followed by the ADAPTER name and a one hexadecimal 
digit between 1 and F. For example, $ZZATM.#ZAM11.
