ATM Transaction Anayzer User and Installation Guide
HP NonStop ATM Transaction Analyzer: Overview 14
1-4-2 ATM/TA Front-End Components
The ATM/TA consists of the following components installed on the front-end.
• ATM/TA Database
The ATM/TA Database is installed on a system which has SQL Server installed on it. It can reside on an
independent system or coexist with other ATM/TA components.
• ATM/TA Application Server
The ATM/TA Application Server includes various ATM/TA services, for example: ATMLOGGER Service,
ATMSTATGEN Service, ATMMON Service and Elink. These services can reside on the ATM/TA Database
or on an independent system.
• ATM/TA Web Server
The ATM/TA Web Server is a web based application used to monitor ATM transactions through web-
browser like Microsoft Internet Explorer. The ATM Web Server should be installed on a system which has
Microsoft IIS 5.0 or above installed on it. The ASP.NET Server component accesses the information from the
ATM/TA database and acts as a gateway to construct information that end-users view over the web.
1-4-3 Elink Communication Process
Elink is an independent communications process residing on both HP NonStop Servers and the front-end ATM/TA
Application Server. ATM/TA uses Elink as the communication channel between the ATM/TA Application Server
and the HP NonStop host(s). Acting as a gateway for the HP NonStop environment, the Elink host running on the
HP NonStop system passes structured information to the ATM/TA Application Server through the Elink service. It
is the middleware between the backend and front-end components of ATM/TA. Elink configuration is handled
through the ELKCONF file on the HP NonStop Server and a configuration file on the ATM/TA Application
Server.
