The Availability Guide for Application Design is intended for analysts, programming
managers, application developers, and other computer professionals involved in the
design and development of applications that require a high level of availability.
Specifically, the guide is intended for those personnel who:

Need help to decide which availability facilities to use when developing new
applications
•
Need an entry point into other manuals for the programming information related to
availability issues
Readers of this guide include personnel who design, develop, and make decisions
about the business application itself. Note that the application design, in this context,
includes not only designing the business function into the application, but also
providing the necessary instrumentation and command and response interfaces to
keep the application continuously available.
