Establishing a Phased Approach
Once you have begun to collect outage data, you can establish your phased approach.
By analyzing your outage data, you can find out the developments you need to make in
order to get the best improvement for the least effort.
For example, you might see from your reports that the same kind of problem has
occurred 10 times in two months and typically costs about 10 outage minutes each
time it occurs. By estimating the cost of fixing the problem and comparing it with the
