TFDS Automated Recovery
Table 6-1. TFDS Configuration Parameters
Parameters Functions
AUTOMATIC-BACKUP If an incident occurs, TFDS does not back up dump information
automatically.
BACKUPTIMEOUT The TFDS backup of the files is delayed 60 minutes.
CRUNCH-FILE This parameter enforces the use of the CRUNCH process located
under $SYSTEM.SYS03.CRUNCHR.
DB-LOCATION The database files are generated by TFDS under
$SYSTEM.TFDS.
DISABLED-CPUS The two processors (also known as CPUs) specified (0 and 3) are
not dumped, reloaded, or analyzed by TFDS.
DUMPVOLUME If at least 10 per cent of disk space is available, TFDS uses
$ALPHA as a dump volume. If the $ALPHA disk space is
insufficient, TFDS defines an alternate volume with the most
available free space that matches the 10 per cent disk space
criteria.
IGNORED-CPUS The next CPU DOWN message for CPU 1 is ignored by TFDS.
NETFILEXFER This parameter enables the file transfer of dump information to
\GRANDE.$DATA.DUMPRD.
RETRY-DUMP If the initial dump is unsuccessful, TFDS attempts to dump the
processor a maximum of three more times. The RELOAD-ON-
FAILURE option allows the processor to be reloaded if a TFDS
dump fails.
RETRY-RELOAD If the initial reload is unsuccessful, TFDS attempts to reload the
processor a maximum of three more times.
TAPE-UNIT If the tape drive specified is valid, TFDS uses it to back up
information. If the tape drive specified is invalid, TFDS makes
an alternate selection based on the availability of any other tape
drives.
