Problem Management Tools
Overview
Tandem provides a variety of tools you can use to detect, analyze, recover from, and
track problems in your operations environment. These tools allow you to perform the
following problem management tasks:

Problem detection, analysis, recovery, and administration
•
Event collection and viewing
•
Performance, object, and resource monitoring
•
Automated operations
What Is in This Section?
This section provides information to help you determine which of Tandem’s problem
management tools would best help you reduce unplanned outages in your environment.
This section does not describe tools provided by companies other than Tandem. The
Software and Services Directory describes third-party products. You can obtain a copy
of the this directory from your Tandem representative.
Because of the number of Tandem tools available for problem management, and because
some of these tools are cross-functional—that is, they can be used for multiple problem
management tasks, these tools are listed alphabetically in this section.
Table 9-1 lists the tools described in this section, the problem management tasks they are
appropriate for, and where they are described in this section.
