CA-Unicenter for NonStop Servers
CA-Unicenter for NonStop Servers
CA-Unicenter for NonStop Servers provides a set of integrated systems management
and problem solving functions. You can access these functions through either a graphical
user interface or a command-line interface. You can use CA-Unicenter to:
•
Direct important messages to a centralized location and automatically respond to
messages that would otherwise require human intervention
•
Record, access, track, and resolve system and end-user problems
•
Automate repetitive processing to reduce errors and free operators for more
important tasks
•
Ensure the integrity and reliability of critical computing resources
•
Secure your computing environment
Using CA-Unicenter, you translate your ongoing administration and maintenance tasks
into policies, rules that outline how and when you perform system management tasks.
CA-Unicenter then automatically follows these policies to help reduce errors and reduce
the burden on your system administrators, allowing them to concentrate on end-user
satisfaction and other organizational goals.
Management and Problem-Solving Tools
You can implement any or all of these CA-Unicenter functions:
Event Management
Use the CA-Unicenter Event Management function to identify important messages,
respond to messages automatically, and isolate conditions that require additional
attention.
Workload Management
Use the CA-Unicenter Workload Management function to automate processing
according to preset schedules or dependencies on other work. This automated
scheduling incorporates workload balancing across multiple systems in a network, based
on demand and available resources.
Tape Management
Use the CA-Unicenter Tape Management function to protect backed-up and archived
data by preventing tapes from being overwritten during their specified retention periods.
File Management
Use the CA-Unicenter File Management function to increase data integrity and
availability, backing up and archiving files without the concerns of inadvertently
deleting critical files, and seamlessly moving files from backup or archive to disk as
needed.
