Management and Problem-Solving Tools
Security Management
Use the CA-Unicenter Security Management function to implement policy-based access
validation using a central security database. This relational database structure defines the
relationships between users and system assets like files, programs, and user IDs.
Spool Management
Use the CA-Unicenter Spool Management function to define printers, manage spool job
queues, and control the spooler itself.
Report Management
Use the CA-Unicenter Report Management function to extend normal reporting by
establishing rules that repackage selected pages from reports into bundles, and then
monitoring the redistributed of these customized reports to selected groups of users.
Problem Management
Use the CA-Unicenter Problem Management function to automate help desk activities
by defining, assigning ownership of, tracking, and recording the resolution of system
and end-user problems.
Integrated Command and Control
Use the CA-Unicenter Integrated Command and Control function (ICC) to substitute
common command buttons for the variety of subsystem commands and relieve operators
of the need to know the syntax and peculiarities of individual subsystem command
interfaces. You access ICC through the Configuration and User Administration
application, which you can use to define sets of utilities and workstation desktop
configurations to meet the specific needs of individual console users and classes of
operators and administrators.
